Living Well in the Presence of God

Everyday Spirituality for the 21st Century

Are you looking for a way to deepen your spiritual life? To find God’s purpose? This is the book is for you.

“Living Well in the Presence of God is a fresh and engaging exhortation for people everywhere, and for people of Christian faith in particular, to live every aspect of the wholeness and fullness of everyday life alive and aware to the presence of the divine.”

Bishop Brad Billings, Anglican Diocese of Melbourne

Living Well in the Presence of God is for anyone who struggles to understand how to follow God in a culture that has all but eliminated God from its way of life. “Your book is very moving, refreshing and timely — How much we need that refreshment today!” Lyn Hale, Holy Spirit Parish, Thornbury Victoria

I am an ordinary Christian.  I have had a varied career, as a corporate executive and a management consultant. I also have a Certificate in Theological Studies, so I understand the difficulties of following Jesus in the Twenty-first century. My book is about first understanding God’s presence in everyday life, and then responding and deepening one’s relationship with God. Everyday Spirituality in the Twenty-first Century is a practical five step process for encountering and responding to God in everyday moments – Pause, Love, Passion, Wait and Act.

Barbara Cail, AO, Order of Australia

“My belief is that the full human individual, with all that implies for human rights and political order, emanates from Christianity. Living Well in the Presence of God is a gift – a refresher course. I entered a very quiet, thinking and emotional zone while reading it. I finished it with profound feelings and elevated spirits: I discovered wonderful new revelations and provocative thoughts to nourish my life each day.”

Living Well in the presence of God is a fresh and engaging exhortation for people everywhere, and for people of Christian faith in particular, to live every aspect of the wholeness and fullness of everyday life alive and aware to the presence of the divine. Arising out of the personal stories and experiences of the author, and the richness of the ‘steps to everyday spirituality’ described within, the prayerful hope of this volume is that the reader will know and experience the reality of God; not only in the abstract, as intellectual knowledge, or through occasional participation in the rites of the church, but in the theatre of everyday life. Those who read and absorb with purpose will find here many practical and useful strategies for making the practice of the presence of God a constant and familiar reality.”

Anthony Moore, author of Father, Son and Healing Ghosts

Living Well in the Presence of God is a beautiful book, a must read for anyone trying to live an authentic Christian life in the context of the secular-scientific worldview. The author presents a profound yet practical appropriation and integration of two classics of the Christian spiritual tradition: St Ignatius Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises and Brother Lawrence’s Practice of the Presence of God. By sharing his experiences of being touched by God in ordinary events, the author invites us to recognize and respond to the Creator’s love breaking through in everyday moments.”
